Welcome to our little corner of paradise on Little Gasparilla Island, tucked away in beautiful Placida, Florida. While our home base may be in Apopka, Florida, our connection to this secluded island began in a way that felt almost destined. Some of our first visits were spent at a family member’s home, and from those early moments, we knew we had discovered something truly special. The old Florida charm, the untouched beauty, our sun-kissed - sand covered kids able to run freely, and the abundant wildlife created a peaceful escape—a place where time slows down, and the stresses of everyday life just seem to fade away.

After falling in love with the island’s magic, we decided to make it our own and purchased our first property, a cozy cottage built in the 1960's. It quickly became the perfect home for us and our family to enjoy. Four months later, we got married right here on the beach, surrounded by stunning sunsets, the peaceful atmosphere, and the welcoming community that calls this place home. It was the perfect start to our new journey. Since then, as our family continues to grow, we've added a second property, each offering their own unique slice of the island’s magic.

Little Gasparilla Island is rich in history, once home to early settlers, the quiet beaches and lush mangroves have always been a peaceful retreat. The island has remained largely untouched by development, preserving the natural beauty that first captured our hearts. Nestled near the Gasparilla Sound Aquatic Preserve, a protected natural area between Sarasota and Fort Myers, and accessible only by boat, it's seclusion helps maintain its pristine charm. With no streetlights to interfere, the night sky here offers a breathtaking view, perfect for stargazing and embracing the island’s tranquility.

The island teems with wildlife, including playful dolphins, sea turtles, and gentle manatees that often pop up to say hello. The waters are also home to a rich variety of fish such as snook, tarpon, trout, redfish, pompano, snapper, and more, making it a haven for both fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Experience some of the finest shelling in the area, with treasures like shark teeth and sand dollars waiting to be discovered along the shore. The sunrises and sunsets here are among the most breathtaking Florida has to offer, providing the perfect backdrop for a peaceful day on the island.

Although these homes have always been a beloved retreat for us and ours, we wanted to share this experience with others. That’s why we’ve opened them as vacation rentals, so you, too, can enjoy the island’s beauty and serenity.
