Begin your adventure at Eldred's Marina, located at 6301 Boca Grande Causeway, Placida, Florida 33946 (just before the toll booth). Here, you can either park your car and launch your boat or board Pirate’s Water Taxi for a scenic 10-minute ride to our dock.
To obtain your parking pass ($8.00 SV per day, $10 with trailer), simply visit the small bait shop at the marina and place the pass on your dashboard. The water taxi will pick you up from the dock located out back.
Once you have arrived: The Cottage is ideally situated halfway between the Bay and the Beach, with each just a convenient 3-minute walk away. You'll also have access to a boat slip located at Dock #44, where the water taxi will drop you off.
Water Taxi Information: Please Read Carefully
The local water taxi service, operated by Pirate Water Taxi, is run by captains Emmett or Bill. To ensure a smooth arrival and departure, please make your reservations well in advance.
The water taxi operates daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and always requires a reservation. For trips outside these hours or on holidays, advance notice is needed, and an additional charge may apply. To secure your spot, contact them approximately two weeks before your arrival, especially if you need early morning, late evening, or holiday transportation.
The typical fare is $25 for two people, with an additional $15 per person thereafter (prices may vary). Confirm the cost at the time of booking, as rates can change depending.
When booking, specify that you are heading to Dock #44. Upon arrival, you can either use the handcart provided at the house or arrange for island concierge Bret to assist with transporting your gear. It is essential to schedule your water taxi in advance to avoid any delays. This is not a walk up service & they only accommodate 6 people per trip. Please plan accordingly.
Beach Access:
To access the beach, simply follow the path at the end of the street (opposite to the bay), just to the right of the mint green house.
If you're renting a golf cart, turn right at the end of the street, then take the next left. You can park your cart at the beach access point; just be sure not to block any driveways.
Groceries:
You can purchase your groceries on the mainland and bring them over via water taxi or your boat. The closest grocery store is Publix at Cape Haze. Walmart in Englewood also available. The island also now has the option of an upon-arrival or mid-stay grocery delivery service. Have your groceries delivered on the day you arrive or send the shoppers to the mainland for additional groceries or things you might have forgotten.
Reminder: This is a bridge-less residential island, there are no stores or restaurants located on the island. Please plan accordingly.

Golf Cart Rental:
While your stay with us is an easy commute, and golf carts are not required, they are available to rent if you crave more accessibility. Carts are available for rental through Paradise Cart Rentals. It is best to inquire well in advance as gold carts often sell out early
